Greetings and Salutations
This is not my first foray onto the web - I can remember the first time I saw a hyperlink, before the birth of the World Wide Web, and I realized at the time what an amazing rabbit hole of information was soon to be at everyone’s fingertips. I had a MySpace, and my own websites which were painstakingly coded by hand in HTML and reached an audience of about four. Alas, I was more optimistic about the result of global interconnectivity both personally and as a species than I am today, but I am still here, still connecting, and still writing.
I am striving to build a space where I can share my own creativity through writing, art, crafts, video, and other media. And as part of that, I am purposely holding a space for others to express their own creativity, where artists and those who appreciate art in all forms can support one another, nurture our passions and our souls, overcome the negativity and anger that seems to be everywhere on the internet these days, and just be their fully authentic selves. Welcome to the Den!

Wednesday Lee Friday
Horror Humorist
“A writer of varied fact and fiction, but her first love will always be horror. She is the author of A Stabbing for Sadie, The Finster Effect, and the chilling Kiss Me Like You Love Me. Wednesday is a fan of black cats, The Simpsons, lemon soda, Jack Ketchum, and people who use good grammar.”

James Featherstone
Poet
“From his early years in Utah (yes, in That Religion) to his days as an Army reservist and over a year spent in Kuwait, James has always had the curiosity of a scholar and the soul of a poet. He now resides in the southwest part of Washington State, where his paid job is being a computer programmer and his unpaid job is being butler to an elderly and opinionated black cat. He spends his free time learning new skills, exploring new ideas, and experiencing life.”
Michael Montoure
Horror Writer and Podcaster
“An unreliable narrator, Michael Montoure is an indie writer of horror and dark urban fantasy. His obsessions include hidden truths, secret dealings, and the changing and fragile nature of our own pasts. He is known as much for his spoken-word performances of his fiction at Seattle coffeehouses and conventions as for the stories themselves. He lives alone by the edge of Echo Lake, Washington. He is standing right behind you.”
Michael passed away in 2023 after a long battle with the effects of diabetes. He is deeply missed and greatly loved. The world lost a brilliant mind and a wonderful human that day.
Shout out to some of the independent authors I have enjoyed, in no particular order and without so much as a by-your-leave.
Adam Andrews Johnson
Northwest Independent Writer
“Born into a New England family of bookstore owners, the creative force within Adam Andrews Johnson has always been strong. He began composing poems and lyrics in his youth and performed for years in punk, metal, and alternative bands. In his late 20s, Adam was diagnosed with autoimmune issues that forced him to spend more time at home. He started writing unrelated stories that he would email to his long-distance partner, and the grand otherworldly tales of light and dark fantasy began to grow. “
Eric Robert Nolan
Poet
“Eric Robert Nolan’s award-nominated writing has appeared in 55 publications across 10 countries: the United States, Canada, Britain, Ireland, Germany, Romania, Turkey, India, Singapore and Australia. These publications include Newsday (New York State’s third-largest newspaper and America’s 10th-largest), the Richmond Times-Dispatch (Virginia’s second-largest newspaper), The Roanoke Times (Virginia’s third-largest newspaper), The Free Lance-Star, The Daily Progress, the Eunoia Review, The Galway Review, Every Day Fiction and Quail Bell Magazine.
Eric’s writing and photography were also included in 19 anthologies, two chapbooks, and six mini-books. He was one of only eight poets worldwide selected for The Galway Review 12, the esteemed Irish journal’s 2024 poetry anthology. Later that year, the Chinese Poetry Association twice translated his work for the global readership of its Poetry Hall bilingual journal. Every Writer’s Resource named his poem “The Writer” as one of EWR’s Best of 2019. Eric’s more than a half-dozen award nominations include a 2018 nod for Sundress Best of the Net.”
Morgan Ray
Young Adult Author
“A little about me: I'm an author, a lover of creepy-cute things (you know sparkly skulls and black unicorns and candles that melt and show skeletons), and an all-around weirdo. I'm the happiest when playing with my kitties or exploring a haunted cemetery. I love YA books. If I could, I would live in one. Just not The Hunger Games. I want to live!”
